well I was terribly excited yesterday as my parcel from atkinsons came within 2 days, but I was soon brought back to earth with the size of gold for your money , ok it didn't cost the earth 2 x 5 gram bars from Johnson matthey at a shade under 276 but honestly I didn't realise they were smaller than a sim card, if stacking is about feeling you hold a good quantity for your money then I will only go into gold for at least 20 grams or possibly 1 ounce minimum but mau need to switch into more silver and try and buy better as the vat takes the fun out of it I can truly say ive had the wind taken out of my sails with a 5 gramm bar or possibly I should have bought 1 x 10 gramm bar to feel a bit more like it
it is impressive thou... such small, much value. if you want something that looks slightly more impressive, even though still small... perthmint lunar coins have a bigger circumference.. i have a 1/10th roo, and a 1/10th lunar snake, and the lunar looks FAR nicer!!
i got 2 x 1/4 oz gold roo coins couple days ago.... TIIINY. blows my mind that they even make 1/20th and 1/10th coins. who would buy those!!? 5 grams.. i dont even want to know
It can be very underwhelming craig, the smallest coin I have is a Mexican Dos pesos, have to be careful with it in case I drop it in the carpet - takes me hours to find it between the pile.
Get a clean, top quality gold nugget the same weight as any coin and compare each one in your hand and see which you find more interesting. Ive tried this on a few people with a 1/10 and a 3 gram nugget and not one has said they would prefer the coin.
I look at it as an advantage. A lot of value squeezed in to a small space. Easier to hide and to transport when needed. I would rather carry a few oz of gold than several kg of silver
I think the following differentials are important to remember: Silver is not cheap gold. Gold is not expensive silver. Gold is gold. Silver is silver.
