That's okay, pretty transparent it's not the actual coin and no legal tender value ascribed to it

At 23 bucks it's getting mightily close to costing as much as a real one!

Shill bids hoping to get a sucker, or some people are just that stupid and will pay because it looks pretty.

Not marked as a copy. It's counterfeit and illegal to possess. Federal offence.

Seeing lots of clad copies on eBay UK with specific sellers.
Why are they not getting prosecuted ?
The coins are exact replicas stating one ounce fine 999 silver etc with a face value.
    I call this counterfeit.
Reporting to eBay is falling on uninterested ears unfortunately but if a body of stackers were to start something on eBay it might get their attention.

How can this product be offered legally for sale ?
Okay he is honest enough to state that it is gold plated but I cannot tell so from the blurred image of the coin which possibly states one ounce of fine gold.
That means someone will most likely try and flip it to someone not so knowledgable and make a killing - poor sod that buys the fake though.

If I print copies of $100 notes and list them as copies but they look like the real thing I would end up in jail.
Why not so for coins especially like this one ?

Not only does it say fine gold but it also states the legal tender amount. This must be illegal. These are not replicas, they are counterfeits.

They don't give a toss PA, many people have complained and they don't even take the listings down.

Is there a trading standards or government office that you can report this fake stuff to ?
Thought they would crack down hard on counterfeit - especially currency.

It's long been a time to make eBay responsible for any fake appeared on site .., they like making money on all things, a bit of responsibility would not hurt them

I've reported it. I totally agree that it encourages someone to flip it on to a 3rd party.

I also reported every item in the links. Hope it helps. They slip in the word "plated" or "clad" hoping you don't read everything and bid. This way they can say they weren't lying in the listing and it was buyer's error. I still don't think it is right though.
