Seems like this would require some sort of licensing deal...

Actually, there's nothing "new concept" about coins with a locket. The first precious metals coins which contained lockets were gold and silver proof coins made by the Perth Mint. They are very hard to find today but if you search with key words like "Cook Islands 2002 Gold locket coin Queen's Golden Jubilee 50th Anniversary Crown Jewels" (you can replace "gold" with "silver" for the silver version) you may be able to find a couple of the silver versions. The gold version coins were extremely limited mintage and have 2 carats of faceted real diamonds, rubies, and I think sapphires. The silver version has 1.5 carats of stones but I believe cubic zirconia is used instead of diamonds in the silver version.

There have been other locket coins since then, encapsulating a variety of interesting things.

I haven't seen it either but there are enough pop references on the interwebs that I picked up on what the joke was.

I personally think wasting time posting on the internet is a slightly better pursuit than watching nonsense on the boob tube but some people like it.

It reminds me of an article I read which was a legal piece, it was how the only way to legally possess a cannabis leaf was sealled in a block of acrylic, like a paperweight. I think the laws have changed a bit since then.

Breaking Bad was an awesome show! If you haven't seen it, pick up the dvds or netflix it. And awesome job on the coin and April Fools day!

Glad those of you who knew the reference appreciated the joke :) Although I secretly wish some mint would take the idea and make a medallion. Tortuga's head would make a great obverse effigy! ;)

Missing link is 100% correct --- this is a parody of those daft PM locket coins you are referring too... lmao

Genius OP --- hands down best SS post ever and great Photoshop skills

The 99.1% pure is genius kicker

RE: proof box set -- something like this

TV is of course a waste of time, that's why you get your hands on a whole season and watch it ad-free.. and yes most programs are not worth watching.. its just this is a genius program created by Vince Gilligan (X-Files) and will go down in history as a classic (unlike trashy grubby soft core game of thrones which is disappointing to even those that love the genre like myself and those horrible zombie and warewolf/vampire progs)
