I would just keep checking Apmex. They are sitting on at least close to 2 monster boxes of each and this recent sale shows that they will fire sale them to get them moving.

Once they do - you find someone in the US that would be willing to order and fwd to you...

If APMEX is sitting on 2 monster boxes of 2012 Hawaii Volcano or Denali, you can bet that they will not have a fire sale for these....these are among the key bullion issues in the series thus far. They would likely take advantage of the growing demand for this series. It looks like some of the 2013 ATM coins saw records broken in terms of quickest sellouts for US Mint silver products.

I do not own a single 2012 Hawaii or Denali 5 oz bullion coin. I unfortunately missed the boat on those coins. I only got stacker consciousness toward the end of 2012. They are now out of my budget but ultimately some day, I hope to have enough funds to buy both of these key issues.

I consider the $220 they just sold the Hawaii coins for a fire sale. We can only see 2 monster boxes worth, who knows how many they have in the vault?

This is SOP for Apmex, if a product sits for too long they will drop the price to make them move. Look at the 2013 Gold Libertad sets, started out at $4600 and Apmex dropped them to about $2700 to make them move. Don't underestimate what they'll do to keep things moving.

So up to last week it was at least 3 boxes of Hawaii coins - they had that fire sale on 1 box of 100 of them and then jacked the price right back up.

@ db23, Oh, I thought you were just supposing a hypothetical scenario of these sought after coins being placed on sale.

I don't recall seeing a link for that sale. I stand corrected then and I would have to agree with you that if they are being sold for $220 it really is like a fire sale.

Seems like I have missed lots of great sales. :(

Here's the 1st 2014 issue. I was a little late to the party and only started buying ATB's a year and a half ago but I've become an enthusiastic convert.

Nice Tom, first picture I have seen, it is going to be a good year for ATBs! I started about the same time. Starting with 2014, I switched from the bullion version and signed up for the "P" versions under the subscription plan. At 10% off with the plan, the cost of this version will be only $134 (until the price changes) which is not much more than the bullion versions.

so if 35,000 rushmores are made. how many are proofs and how many are bullion?

    I believe it's 35,000 Bullion and 25,000 Proof - not a total of just 35,000 coins.

You must be the only one that wasn't able to put 1 and 1 together to figure out that I was talking about the Bullion version (which is ABSOLUTELY NOT proof like) and the P version, which doesn't have the mirror finish, but does have a more enhanced finish like would be expected of a proof-type coin.

You are mistaken, Freechance is absolutely correct to point out your mistake.

The proof-like finish variety can only be found on the bullion version. The collector version (with the "P" mint mark) has the satin or vapor blasted matte finish.

When bullion coins of this series get graded, some get graded with a proof-like "PL" designation which is a variety of the bullion version whereas the "P" version will never be graded as such unless it is subjected to a production process mishap....an error. Which has happened already with this series a couple of times. A few "P" coins were vapor blasted only on one side. These are rare errors in this series but if you happen to be the person that gets one of these, you are lucky as these will fetch a substantial premium.

Please find me anywhere on the US Mint website where it refers to this bullion coin as proof like and I will eat my words.

Stop blowing smoke up your own rectum, chum.

You got called out for making a blunder. Stop being arrogant and suck up your mistake. These are your blundering words, "I believe it's 35,000 Bullion and 25,000 Proof - not a total of just 35,000 coins."

Stop blowing smoke up your own rectum.

Ok, so I guess this means that no, you couldn't find anything from the US Mint that calls their BULLION coin Proof-Like? Yeah, I didn't think so.

I picked up one of the Hawaii volcanos in the bullion version just because I loved the design so much when I spied it on the bullion bourse website. I didn't realize that they're such a sought after coin now. It's pretty cool to know it's value might have appreciated a little, because it's probably the only coin I've bought that has haha!

There seems to be a really great community on this forum too by the way.

I'm also thinking I might get one of the my Rushmores before they get hard to get because it's such a. beautiful and distinctive design.
