So a few minutes ago I was sitting outside waiting on USPS to deliver my package. They pulled up and put the mail in the mailbox and went on up the street. I went to the mailbox to get the mail and all the mail is here expect my Apmex items. I was thinking how in the world do I explain to Apmex that my first purchase from them never came?? I go to check the tracking online and this is what it says:

Now I will probably never see this package again because I don't know where it is. It's filled with 2014 2 oz Silver Australian Year of the Horse Colorized coins and I just checked Apmex and there sold out. They didn't even make an attempt to deliver my package! :(

"They" is USPS, not APMEX. Typical postal worker laziness seen all over the world.

As the tracking website says, "notice left". Go to your post office tomorrow and collect it.

Yeah isn't there a slip somewhere in there saying your items are available to be collected?

No. He simply put my bills in the mailbox and left. No slips or anything. :(

Ok I put a request online to pick it up tomorrow from my post office. I'm almost certain that when I get there not only will they not have my package, they want even know what I'm talking about. Apmex shipped my ATB coins today and that will come Saturday and this will probably happen again.

Well you've got a tracking number and the item has obviously been tracked to your post office.
Pretty hard for them to say 'what package'

    Get a post office box

based on the info provided i have no idea why you think your package is lost...
Make yourself present when expecting a package like that, particularly when it's heavy, or they'll just leave and get you to pick it up instead.

    It's called a lazy postman.

It happens to me all of the time.

They don't want to get out of the truck to bring you the box for signature, and they don't want to fill out the slip to tell you to pick it up. I know it is frustrating.

Get to the post office and let them know, if the postie put the slip in the wrong box someone else may claim it if they are lazy about checking ID at the P.O.

This has happened to me multiple times.... Just go to the PO with the print out and picture ID. Every time this happened to me, they go in the back and come out with my package. Good luck!!

PO box is worth the $60 a year for sure. And as others have said, the package is almost certainly at the Post Office - postman was either lazy, behind schedule, or wrongly assumed no one was home.

This is also why you should get a PO Box
After this happened on a main road where I work I decided no more taking deliveries at work for my PM's. We were closed that day. Lucky I passed by or I would have been missing a few parcels. Same day I got myself a PO Box and it's been the best peace of mind ever!!!

In my area, AusPost has outsourced package deliveries to contractors who rarely bother to buzz and just leave a card (and 20% of the time nothing at all) or get the address number wrong because it's quicker and they can claim to be more productive.

I've complained to AusPost but it does no good. They also get pissed because they have to deliver a second card a week later for all the times no card is delivered to the customer. You really need a tracking number every time so you know something was supposed to have been delivered.

Not just at post offices. A service station on my route home has a parcel locker and it's not the only one
