1/10 and 1/20 seem to produce the best gains

The premium on 1/20 is around 30% from most dealers. The premium is drastically lower at 1/10 (at ~12%)

Somebody told me to start collecting 1/2 oz gold pandas.

Apparently their mintage is lower and their returns are higher?

Why NOT full set if you have enough money rather than just 1/2 oz?

Am I the only one who does this? I rarely buy a set of something. The only set I have is of the kooks, and that happened by 'luck' then it did a seeking after....actually I still need a roll of the 2014's. LOL.

But, how I collect is by favorite. If there is one coin or a few coins in the set I really like, I set out towards the goal of collecting multiples of that coin. For example, I personally really, really like the 2008 panda gilded banknote coins, so over time I bought 7, and would like 10 by the time I'm done. I'll get them graded, and maybe sell a few depending on grade, but keep the rest for posterity or retirement. Doesn't anyone else think this way?

I collect full set rather than just of the particular fractional . However , it is not easy to collect 1/2oz of certain years and 1/10oz of certain years .
So I give up if the premium of those 1/2oz and 1/10oz surge beyond my ability to collect them .

If I was spending enough for a 1/2 oz panda then i'd rather wait for a 1 oz panda instead.
in my opinion the 1 oz is the true size of a bullion coin.
the first thing i'd do if I had 2 x 1/2 oz would be to swap them for a 1 oz anyway.

If your looking at fractional gold then you can't go past the 1/10 oz panda.
1/10th, 10%, it's a simple fraction of 1 oz, a reasonable premium and price makes it appealing to the masses
who spread the production out far and wide, unlike 1 oz coins which are in a much smaller circle of collectors.

    Hi Mini,

I am more than happy to exchange my 1 OZ to your 2 pieces of 1/2 oz.

PM me if any. Cheers :)

I like the 1/10 reasonable within reach pricing except a few of the real key dates ,and for those with older eyes easier to see than the 1/20:) ,I also collect set's but that is much slower due to the expense............

I personally started with 1/20 because of budget reasons and have to keep at it for the time being, throwing in a few 1/10ozers here and there though :) I think 1/10 is a solid investment choice. ozers are really hard to get a hold of nowadays..
