Meet Raffle - For those that are interested, I'm going to be holding a raffle. Only 25 tickets Each ticket cost : 1 (Australian) 1966 50 cent round Prize pool of 25 rounds fifties awarded as follows: 1st : 15 round 50's 2nd: 8 round 50's 3rd: 2 round 50's If you don't have any round 50's.....some will be available for sale on the night solely for the raffle. Price of 50's will be advised on the night. I will be bringing some Maples to be auctioned....auctioning in 5 lots Lot 1 :5 x 1oz Maples Lot 2 :5 x 1oz Maples Lot 3 : as above Lot 4 : as abpve Lot 5 : as above there will be a reserve
At last months meet , we had over 15 members indicate that they were attending. So I made arrangements to book the private function area. We only had 6 members attend ( only one member was kind enough to advise that they were unable to attend). On top of that , the venue also puts on an extra staff member for our meets ....as I work in a similar industry, the venue would have been out of pocket nearly $90 for putting that extra staff member on, as they have to pay them a minimum of 2.5 hours in wages I'm fully aware that last minute circumstances can pop up for one reason or another......all that I ask is that if you have indicated that your attending and can no longer make it.....PLEASE just send a pm out of courtesy for the venue and other members. Preferably the day before, that way I can notify the venue and give them time to adjust their staffing levels.
Now that the formalities are over Gold Digger has once again agreed to bring along his XRF machine. So if you have any precious metals (even jewellery) and your not sure of the purity of your gold or silver bring them along to the meet. I believe he also has a great bargain lined up for the auction...and yes its 999 fine silver this time and not Old Gold - R.I.P Bunny For any new members attending , I will explain the story behind "Old Gold" at the meet.
LOVE a good "meat" raffle! The local has one every Friday, though the tickets come with the beers from memory. OK how about a tube of 2013 ASE's and a roll of 20 x 2013 snakes for the auction? Yes they will have a reserve but could still be a bit of a bargain. I also have some intersting numies if people like their sport. AFL, Rugby, Golf, Tennis and even a Bradman Coin, all silver and all proofs. Plus PLENTY of other numis. If anyone is interested in those sort of coins give me a yell and I can bring them along. Thanks again argento for organising this and also GD for his XRF, love that radiation (maybe we can use it to cook the meat raffle?)!!

Just got my hands on a "LOT" of .925 bracelets, chains, bangles, earings and bits and pieces, we are looking around 8.5kg of jewelry and it is all BRAND NEW. Some are even rhodium coated for better wear (at least I think that is what the coating is for!!) So if anyone is interested I can post a few pics closer to the date (I pick them up later next week). Prices will vary a little bit but $1.50 to $1 a gram should cover most of them. See you at the meet!!
New member, fellow South Aussie, just joined today, would be great to meet new people and attend these meetings. I have 2 x Perth Mint 1kg 2000 colored dragons. 1 in the red box and the other in the wood box all in perfect nick with COA's and outer protective boxes from the Mint. Have stacks of 2000 Perth Mint silver dragons in various weights from 10 oz to 1/2 oz in sets and capsules. Also stacks of Ag that I have been collecting over the years, a lot of eagles. Lots of 50 cent rounds and few proof sets. Wanting to fully understand forum procedures and protocol. Hoping to do some buying, selling and trading over time. Same Baron look forward to meeting some members in person. I agree with you the best place for those high end pieces and sets will be the National and International markets. I will over time explore these opportunities. I will be clearing the cobwebs from a major part of my collections as my interest direction is changing. But in terms of these meetings and auctions may be a good opportunity to do some local buying, selling and trading. Mate over the last 20 years just been collecting all things Ag Au bullion and alot of numismatic coins and stuff of interest, too much of everything and not enough of something. Gotta lighten the load, metaphorically speaking, that is in terms of the cross section and narrow the interest to Ag and Au. Thinking I will sort through and bring some of the cross section to auction. That said, thank you for the welcome and input. Cheers
Thanks mate look forward to it. 2 of everything, absolutely! Starting at the Perth Mint 1kg Au and 1kg Ag... Then combing the corners of the earth to gather my flock, by the time the ark is stacked I would pretty much be on the way to retirement... while listing badly. Cheers for the welcome.
Although numbers are looking promising , we still don't have enough to book the private room. Target is 15-20 to secure the private function area. For the new members attending, in the event we're unable to get the private area, the meet still happens. We just don't hold an auctions, as we don't really want to draw attention to ourselves by shouting out bids Regular trading and swapping still take place, so there will still be opportunities to grab a bargain.
