Alright, have several higher up contacts at the mint that I am in touch with this morning to see WTF is going on. Tristanho, curious where you bought them from, and was a full tube bought? TIA
Yup, full tube bought from a very honest and reputable dealer in singapore. <<-- also a perth mint authorised dealer the last time i checked, not too sure about other mints though. P.s. Do check with ur contacts and update us here mate, much appreciated!
Milk spots already! This coin has only just been released! I am glad now that I only bought 1 and not a tube.
Personally, im not too concerned bout the spots. timber wolfs are still selling like hot cakes now, be it with milk spot or not. On top of that, the premium paid in considerably lower than other coins with similar mintages.
This is a hard one, here I can get maples about 1 cheaper than this falcon. If I was going to decide to stack one of them I wouldn't know which direction to go in, maples or falcons. I would probably risk the extra premium and buy the falcons if I was choosing between the above, though its a hard decision. I would much rather buy kooks over these, I think the kooks are a safe investment, and I don't mind paying the slightly higher price per coin safe in the fact that they shouldn't ever develop any ugly spots.
Thanks for posting the picture and sharing your view. I am greatly disappointed by this. Of course a few coins does not mean they will all get spots but there was talk and hope that RCM had developed procedures to prevent this. And maybe they have and yours are an exception??? Is it really your experience that the timber wolves with spots are selling well? I for one would never pay a premium for a coin that was already spotted . Thanks again, I think this could be very important news for a lot of stackers. I am saddened by this development.
Wow, that's gotta be disappointing ... and a little worrying for me. Just bought two yesterday, so fingers crossed!
I've seen a local seller try to offload a sheet of mint sealed wolves with milkspots before. Anyway you can see them on eBay right now. Thermotron sealed but still develop milkspots like here : http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=161245359843 Look at sellers description "not the greatest condition, some milk spots".
What a shame, nice design but pointless to pay a premium on bullion grade coins, no matter what the picture on it. I haven't bought a RCM coin since I saw my first milk spotted Maple and if the quality continues to remain the same I won't be buying any more either.
Can we get some honest feedback on the coin so far? I've read a few reviews, one from Provident who said they got coins with spots. Anyone else. I'm staying away until I know for certain these coins are pretty much free of milk spots. The RCM has a long road to tow to get back in our good graces...as tempted as I am to buy, I'm not. I've been burned too many times with a loss of money, because of notorious issues with spots. How has your experience been so far. Have you looked closely at the coin to examine spots? Thanks. Update: never mind, enough said. Just saw that earlier image of a bird with atrocious white spots. Silver birds aren't supposed to look like that. Just take some lessons from the perth Mint, RCM. RCM won't be getting a penny from me. Whew. I'll stick with quality! Perth Mint rocks!! Not perfect, and I've certainly seen coins with spots and scratches direct from the mint...but overall, I've been amazingly happy with this mint, and they have great limits on bullion coins!!
Had put some RCM Cougar and Moose away. They had no milk spots when I first got them. Just opened the tubes again today and EVERY SINGLE coin had some sort of milk spot or yellow blemish on them. For that reason I am not going to buy this Falcon coin. Have seen heaps on youtube already totally covered in milkspots.
