    Hi Stackers

I have recently come across a few references to a "Q" variety 1925 penny, tail on second O in COMMOMWEALTH.
Noble auction, 102 I think, and a sale on ebay ($195); But I am unable to find any detailed description elsewhere.

I am trying to identify if one of mine is a "Q" variety or not, and was hoping that some of you may have a better idea.

Pics follow - original looking coin with no major detractions gF.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.
    Regards
    Edmond

Hello Edmond, Yes that definitely is a Q variety..

Just for reference if you didn't know, alll Q varieties have a blob to the left of ONE and a dot to the right, also a small blob or stroke above the W in Commonwealth as pictured below..

    Hope that helps..

    Thanks ecc

For both the confirmation and further detail. This variety has passed me by, and is the first I have heard of it.

    Thanks again.

Yes, I agree it's the Q variety. Ian McConnelly's "Australian Pre-Decimal Varities" lists this as:

    COMMQN - STROKE AT W - DOT AFTER E

Yours seems to have all those tell-tales.
