This is a good news for me. I Was informed by my supplier that the hottest (and most counterfeit) coin series from CIT will have from now on a NEW security: a laser micro-minting feature that looks like a dot with bare eye, but is actually CIT logo or something like that. Directly on the surface of the coin. This feature will be on Tiffany, Mongolia Wildlife and other hot series.
Let's hope that this will make much more difficult to make fakes of their coins.

If it's not verifiable with a common/cheap tool - it'll be as useless as the nano chip on the nano coins.

I can put a tiny dot on a coin, if you can't verify it does or doesn't say CIT then what use is that?

Also, if the counterfeiters can make a knockoff good enough to pass for the real thing, who is to say they cannot replicate the laser mark?

This really cool news. Must have been the numbered COA hologram on the Predator Prey coins that got them thinking.

I think it will be verifiable with a lense / portable microscope which you can buy for $5-$10 on eBay or Amazon and I think any collector must have also for other purposes.
We'll see when we will have first coins in hand.
In any case, I prefer this security feature rather than nothing. Too many fake Mongolia Wildlife coins around and still plenty on ebay. This will not stop them but would convice the china manufacturers that is too much effort to copy a coin perfectly, and they will move on other easier coins hopefully.

CIT has redfined the limits of coin design, sophisticated minting and stunning high-end features for decades. The latest issues once again display unrivaled quality and design. These masterpieces are the result of a close relationship and cooperation with B.H. Mayer's Kunstprgeanstalt (BHM).
A new hallmark symbolizes our cooperation and joint development. This hallmark will be known as SeQrySign, a term composed of the words security, quality and design. Our hallmark signals authentic, high-end coins to the collector. The incredibly detailed micro minting, which measures just a fraction of a milimeter per line is not achievable through conventional methods of counterfeiting.
The SeQrySign hallmark most notably highlights two traits of our premium issues:
Innovative technology jointly developed with BHM
Extraordinary and exceptionally valuable coin issues that are susceptible to fraud and forgery
CIT and BHM are determined to create lasting value and forgery-proof coins. SeQrySign stands for our commitment.
