    Hi all,

    I'm due to relocate to Christchurch next month and would like to know where I can buy bullion (G&S) from? I have done a fair bit of google searches and there are many online retailers but I am struggling to find many stores. I personally like to purchase face-to-face so I am certain of the authenticity, I'm not too keen on the idea of paying large sums of money and using a postal service for something I haven't inspected.

    My research has found the following companies;

    NZmint - delivery only, minimal range of products.

    Kiwibullion - delivery only, mainly American bullion, some PAMP.

    Bulliondeals.co.nz - delivery only, excellent range and value. They say they operate in Australia an UK also

    Buybullion (previously buy-silver-gold-bullion) - delivery and store in Dunedin, good range of products.

    BullionNZ - delivery only, small range - their website also makes claims of IP theft from the previous two companies in the list?

    Has anyone used / heard of these people and what has your experience been? Have you used courier service and has there been any issues? Do you know of any bullion dealers with a store within or local to Canterbruy?

    If anyone has any info about the above companies and experiences it would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks

    If you want to deal face-to-face, I'm only aware of one bullion dealer in Christchurch:
    http://www.westenra.co.nz/GOLD++SILVER+BULLION.html

    I've bought all of my bullion online and can recommend the following:

    Cheapest bullion in NZ, if you're happy with locally made bars/ingots:

    They've negotiated very sharp pricing with a local refiner in Auckland (New Zealand Gold Merchants http://gogold.co.nz/) and basically act as a broker/middleman. Once you place an order, you deal directly with New Zealand Gold Merchants and those guys receive a small kickback. Their pricing was better than dealing directly with the refiner, last time I dealt with them. They also used to have a coupon code to get a 1% discount off orders from NZ Mint (not sure if that's still available - ask them). I'm happy to support them for all the work they've put in over the years with their blog and free educational material for new bullion investors.

    They offer lower prices if you select their four week scheduled delivery option, but personally I'm not comfortable with that. You pay in advance and they order in bulk from their overseas supplier once a month. You can pay just a little bit more for one week shipping (for items in stock), which is what I did.

    Their premiums were absolutely ridiculous in the peak of the bull market, but they're back to sensible levels now. You might still be able to get a 1% discount from NZ Mint from my first link above.

    My first ever silver bullion purchase was from this guy (forgot his name). Straight up and no bullshit. Don't think he sells gold though and I only buy gold now.

    Regal Castings

    This is a bricks and mortar dealer in Auckland. Official distributor for the Perth Mint. I haven't bought anything from them, but they've been around a long time and perhaps you'd feel more comfortable ordering from them than a purely online dealer.

    I've looked at BuyBullion's (the Dunedin dealer) website before, but the prices are too high.

    I would recommend Bulliondeals. Where I buy from. Good prices and I dont mind the 4 week wait. Never had any problem so every order is building more trust.

    Regal castings are great to deal with too. They have a whole bunch of other interesting stuff for casting/jewellery making etc.
