It was only a short while ago that bullion coins were in their mid $20 range. Now after a huge jump to the mid and high $30s! Who here refuses to pay these prices? I see the prices on the Perth Mint site and dealers around and can't believe what the price it is right now. Just the other day I was in a coin shop and they wanted $49 for a 1oz bullion coin that use to be in the high $20s not long ago. What about our Scottsdale Silver Stacker Bar group order that got cancelled. We were waiting for a dip below $20 USD spot price. We missed it by a few days. Now look at it. Even at $20, or even $25 it would of been a great buy! haha Anyways I'm holding out and hoping for a dip after Christmas. Secretly hoping everyone is buying bullion for Christmas presents therefore pushing the prices up.
Think of it as an exercise in adapting to high rates of inflation. It just keeps getting more expensive.
+1 If I was looking to hold for <1 year, I'd feel differently though I think. Silver certainly has momentum behind it!
Yes 1 oz coins are expensive. But if you buy 10 or more they are cheaper. Some bargains can be found though. I found a proof coin under spot but someone beat me to it. I think in ounces and then try to buy the cheapest available.
As long as dealers are still content to buy my paper with silver and gold, I am content to trade. I started trading at $16US, I'm still trading at $30. I will continue to trade at $100. I'm a cost average stacker on the short stack. I'm not trying to second guess the market or buy the dips that may or may not happen. I'd rather 5 oz less before the market breaks out than an extra $200 in fiat assuming I could wait out the next minor dip. Each to their own obviously, but for this little black duck... $30 an ounce absolutely still represents a bargain price for what will easily be the most sought after industrial commodity this decade. In fact, in a couple years from now I've no doubt we will all reminisce about $30 silver being the 'good old days'. I'm buying next week as soon as I get paid cause Aus is dreamin'.... of a silver.... Xmas!
I am looking at the AUD vs USD and Dow Jones vs Gold......when Gold is 1:2 or 1:1 (heres hoping) I would sell all my Gold......Silver I will buy as long as the AUD is high > 0.90cents, once it starts falling..??? It is hard to say....at the end of the day Silver is moving forward and still cheaper than Gold, so I will keep buying while the 'Price is Right'
Went into AEJ the other day. It has been a good few months since I last walked thru THAT door. Walked out 5 minutes later with 10 x 1oz Silver bars for a total of $306.40. It was nice to buy some PM's without paying postage!!!!! The only other Silver they had was a 20oz bar. They were also selling 66 50c for $10.75 That should keep me going till 2011

I've been very close to pulling the trigger on buying 10 of these for $330-335ish (now $338) + post from Bullion Bourse over the past couple of days. You were indeed very lucky.
I thought that it would have been REALLY nice if they rounded down the final price to $306..... But it did go well. No one else in shop. Wham bam thank you maam.
BB are doing 20 of these for $672.00 today : http://bullionbourse.com.au/index.htm#ecwid:category=163419&mode=product&product=364685
I have a 30 yr old niece staying with us for a few days. Law degree & husband is an accuary. Showed the Bullion to her. 1st she the hatched side and thought something to do with nail files!!!! She then had a good look at the other side. "Oh Silver" Asked her what she thought the price was for one. She said $2!!!!!!!!!!!!

+2. I will buy more silver if there is a serious correction (either in silver spot or in the GSR), but generally, I am sitting on silver and just accumulating any gold bargains.
Yeah... I saw that too! Not one lot has gone for under $11 per coin delivered...some are "on sale" for $17 Crazy stuff!
