Screw that. Royal Canadian Mint is great. Milk spot hoopla is bit overplayed. Never had that problem.
No heat in Canada correct. There are plenty of people full of hot air tho which is a huge minus living here.
I bought many bars from them and had no problem. Never had any milk spots either. There are so many people that get really bent out of shape about milk spots. Royal Canadian products aren't the sexiest products in the world by any stretch of the imagination but they get the job done. But that could be said about most products made here.

Am I the only person who doesn't give a toss about milk spots? I buy the metal for the metal and don't care what it looks like. Maybe I'm in a minority of 1.
No you are not alone. I guess that makes it the minority of two. Amazing how shallow people are about their stacking. Getting to emotional about their "objects". Silver content should be all that matters.
Silver is an investment. Sometimes it is in the base metal and sometimes it is in the hope that a collector premium will arise on certain items. Usually to obtain coins hoping the premium will increase you have to pay a high premium to begin with and Milk spots ruin that part of the investment. Everyone cares about milk spots. Even those who say they do not. Given a coin of equal price.... one with milk spots and one without which one would you choose? Now it just becomes a matter of how much premium one will or should pay for coins without milk spots. If you are of the mind set that all silver is created equal then I can see why milk spots don't matter. But when you are investing in collectible coins and that premium is smashed then I can see why milk spots do matter. Let me further add that I understand that silver content is very important.... but during this declining market I have been able to still turn a handsome profit on my silver because I had semi-numi items. Had I just had items worth their metal value then I would have lost 60% of the value. With that in mind I would challenge the idea that "Silver content is all that matters".
Got to agree that it's about more than the silver content. When premiums are similar on different coins it pays to buy those that appreciate more in value due to numismatic demand. Obviously that numismatic demand is back to zero if the coin becomes flawed. It's poor production, nothing more. Don't see how it's defendable to be honest. I'm sure there's a few that really don't care, and I'd certainly put large quantity stackers the most likely to be in that category, but it's not right, regardless.
