Anyone know a good place to go and get jewellery valued in Sydney?? Have a 24K gold plated watch I'd like to try get valued too
Thanks Sammy - i am not really just have a collection of 20 or so medium quality watches such as the Seiko Automatic 21 Jewells. My prices don't exactly represent Jeweler Retail.. some of those valuations id slash 1000% off as they simply dont represent reality. IE: a Half Sovereign housed in a 14kt ring got a $2500 valuation - my price $500 (considering melt is like $300, $500 is still a massive rip-off so would feel bad charging this much knowing its just a 1/2 sov in gold (but jewllers seem to be void of a heart and a conscience) That Victoria Jeweller and Watchmaker could be worthwhile flying up to see.. at those quotes ill be a millionaire assuming insurance companies pay anywhere near the preposterous valuations they slap on stuff. like a certain 9ct ring being offered on SS. Unless its Gold Plated over silver i doubt it has any real value to be honest.. brands do count for something but im sure you'll know if its a tag hauer or a rolex. Watches are like new cars.. you lose 50% plus once its purchased.. second hand watches are something you don't want to buy.. as they will be problematic.. its like an ipad that you want new cause to much can go wrong with a 2nd hand one.
Not 100% sure whats underneath gold plate, got it as a present when I was like 11 and havent worn it once it just sits in box...its a raymond renee watch black face with gems encrusted (not sure if real or fake but I think maybe real cos I remember the person giving it to me saying something about it being custom made or something) its got a serial number or something at the back... maybe ill try to post a few pics and see what u think most of my other jewellery is 18kt gold chains and bracelet
upload some pics.. Retail on those watches is $700 plus so its a good brand.. not sure youd need to get a jewellers valuation.. just find someone who knows and likes the brand and watch and is prepared to make you a decent offer... 1for1
Ok here goes, the back of the watch still has original plastic protection so thats why it looks a bit scratchy but its not on the actual watch.
