Surprisingly Google does- 6,000 for bullion version http://www.free-bullion-investment-guide.com/mexican-silver-libertad-one-kilo.html http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libertad_(coin) And 1,000 for 'proof like'
I noticed the proof mintage of 2012 silver proof libertad was almost nothing except for the 1oz and it was 4,200. Anyone know why?
Here's an article on the 2012's. http://world.mintnewsblog.com/2013/01/2012-gold-silver-libertad-mintages-news-on-2013-libertads/
If you can get your hands on a 2013 1 kilo Proof-Like Libertad you will have one of only 400 ever minted....lowest mintage of the series. .
and apmex has them in stock. http://www.apmex.com/product/77787/2013-32-15-oz-kilo-silver-libertad-proof-like-w-box-coa
Only thing turning me off is that I can buy an oz of gold for that kind of money. Or even 2 kilo bars of silver!
Yeah, but silver and gold can succumb to a decade long or more bear run which may have little of no dampening effect on the value of semi-numi coins but may crush the spot price and the value of all bullion bars, rounds, and whatever other non-collector form those metals come in. If you are able to wait out these hypothetical 10+ years, then that's good for you, but it seems that many stackers would not. Even in 2013, I bet those stackers who also purchased semi-numi coins and found a need to sell some metal are a lot happier than many who didn't invest something in semi-numis. .
Apmex has lowered the prices on these coins. http://www.apmex.com/product/77787/2013-32-15-oz-kilo-silver-libertad-proof-like-w-box-coa
Perhaps. Or it could drop some more ? Surprised that they still have quite a few given their small mintage worldwide.
Apmex just out up their year end sale items. 2 oz 2009 proofs---under $60!!! Some solid deals. Time to go shake the ol piggy bank.
...for anyone here interested there is a guy ( everythingvaluable.com ) selling various 5oz silver proof Libertads (96,97, 2000 to 2007 ) on auction at eBay.. http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_odk...oof+libertad&_nkw=5+z+proof+libertad&_sacat=0 Cheers, Luker
