Why not, the Chinese government doesn't mind. Considering how ancient of a culture they are, it is surprising that all they seem to be able to do is counterfeit everyone else's work. And the Western governments just keep on letting them do it without any consequences. Start banning a lot of Chinese products and I bet the Chinese government suddenly grows a conscience.

Thus is sad. I just don't think the Chinese culture views counterfeiting as something morally wrong. How else can you explain stores in China dedicated to counterfeit items.

I let you in on a little secret: the "ancience" of Chinese culture have been faked in about 18th century. That's why they have descriptions of all the many dynasties, but no remaining genuine artefacts from them.
They've been duping Western collectors for a couple of hundreds years now. ;)

Amazing to see that they still haven't figured out that rounded edged on the plastic is a giveaway.

For the benefit of this dumbarse who hasn't bought pandas for some time, can you please clarify for me...
So the plastic seal in the photo above is not used and they now come in simple plastic bags like the ones received from yennus and Maggie?

This year should put to rest the thought that Chinese buying is behind the increased Panda mintage. The 4 in the year means the Chinese will not be buying this year's Panda. So, if the mintage stays the same, it is not Chinese buying the Pandas.

1314: "" This sounds like "one life, one lifetime" in both Mandarin and Cantonese, and is often used romantically, akin to "for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part" in English.

can we assume that in 2014, 14 is "one lifetime"? What's wrong with this word standing alone?

what about 2004 panda and 1994 one? $70 and at least $100.
