I know there is a max mintage number for the 1oz Silver Panda, any official figures for the actual minted for 2011,2012? Or anywhere saying they will mint to the max regardless.
its still a bit of a mystery. From what I have read which I am not sure if it is true they produced more in 2011 than 2012 so the 2012's are now holding a higher premium. Howwever I like the 2011 design better and tend to buy those if given the choice between the two coins. If you want lower mintage go for 2001-2010. If you want more coins for your money get some 2013's. to put another way for bullion/semi numi get 2013's for Numis get pre 2010. silverbulldog/coinstacker1984
The ones to go for are the 01-10 Silver Pandas as it didnt see as much appreciation as the earlier dates Silver Pandas. I believe Yennus had some sort of measurement before? Expo Pandas are under appreciated by the market and that will change too. Happy Panda Hunting! =)
Not the most reliable source and prob not the official mint but according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_Silver_Panda there is 6,000,000 1 oz silver pandas in 2011 and 8,000,000 in 2012, 2013.
Peter Anthony's Book on G&S Panda Coin is an excellent reference. He also puts out a Pricepedia with auction price estimation which IMHO should be used an just another reference point in making a decision. I believe its worth it if one is a serious collector, cheers.
