What is your all time favourite design on a silver coin? Are you a traditional investor and like the classic American Eagle? Are you lured by the design of the Perth Mint Lunars each and every year? Or do you think - "It's silver, who cares! So long as it's shiny, right?!" We at Pinkman White are curious what everyone's favourite is. And if you have it, upload a photo to show us why you think it is your favourite!
Source: http://www.perthmint.com.au/catalogue/perth-mint-personalised-medallions.aspx I really like the simple but striking design but the price, $42 for half an ounce, even with the engraving, is too much.
Meh, I have spent more on coins, but 1oz coloured and proofs are about $100 so I guess it's in line with Perth Mint pricing. Edit: And you get it engraved!
Don't want to be party a breaker, but it's not this the same thread? http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-42929-my-favorite-silver-coin.html
Stark, I think if the boss wants to post his favourite coin design on any thread I will let him do it.
I like the goose above as well and really like the churchill crown, while know that it is not a silver coin and is worth very little, it is silver in colour.
I was talking about whole thread, not particular post. Anyway, my favorite (Norfed 5oz, 8th anniversary, 1998 - 2006, estimated number of survived is around 1300 - 1500): [img=FluxBB bbcode test]http://imageshack.us/a/img822/1545/2di4.jpg[/img] [img=FluxBB bbcode test]http://imageshack.us/a/img547/9617/0kd9.jpg[/img] XAG are very nice. I'm waiting for my first ram. And the one libertadiac, is simply awesome.
Stark, that may not be the rarest Norfed, but it sure is one of the most striking and beautiful Norfeds I've ever seen. You did good on that purchase I would say.
Missed out on this one recently. Maybe it is a fake. Otherwise a bargain http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/281173370396?ssPageName=STRK:MEDWX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1435.l2649
Very cool. Is this some special edition collector coin, or actual currency in Great Britain during his reign as Prime Minister?
The Churchill Crown is a great likeness, especially when you compare it against something like the Steve Irwin Dollar. Trouble is the Churchill crowns always look really worn, even in UNC.
Thanks for compliments. Yes, it's really stunning piece. I'm quite sure you will buy one. I don't have this coin (yet), but I believe it's one of the more interesting (at least of that era). It was made just a year before Hitler came to "throne", so there is maybe some "controversy behind it". Source: Google images
Bugger - been chasing this since first saw it in 1967. Please don't make me paranoid that there could be fakes of these. Think it's so weird that the Canadian 1967 dollar is quite similar, but the wattle is so unusual ( as were most of Andor Mszros' designs)
It would have to be the 2006 Britannia Golden Silhouette Collection, specifically the design for the 2003 Britannia. It's a pity the front side has some imperfections. Wonder if NCS can do something about it. :/
Only bit of silver that I like so much I doubt I'll ever sell it. Whoever designs these coins doesn't have much competition in my opinion.
