    Hey SS,

I've noticed that at my local post office, there are always Perth Mint coins on sale at one place near the counter.

Do any of you ever purchase anything from there? Is there usually, if not always, an exuberant premium on top of them?

I bought a coin there, 1/2 oz "Specimen" coloured Dragon in 2012, $69. Not available anywhere else, at least, not with the pretty box.

At the time the coloured coins and gilts etc. were about $105 for 1oz, so not massively expensive by comparison.

Au$tralia Post charge the RRP that is listed on the Perth Mint's website/catalogue. No premium above that, they are a retailer only.

I found you have to be quick in Brisbane... the best stuff gets cherry picked from the PO's pretty quickly.

I usually pick up as many as they have in stock when I go to buy from them, I must get around to selling the extras one day.

A few years ago I picked up a red back spider coin for the original price which I think was $100 and sold it 2 months later for $900

What other coins have had that premium increase in the secondary markup in such a short time? also are they still going for 900?
