Hi All, just starting to get into PMs mainly due to the very attractive buy price at the moment, haven't got any yet. I am looking to buy 6 x 1kg Silver but we don't have any dealers here in the Northern Territory (not PM dealers anyways) so I am searching for the best place to buy securely. Surprisingly the Perth Mint has the best price atm on 1 kg bars but maybe I am missing something - anybody advise a better place to check? Really enjoyed reading the Forum and hope I can contribute in future to repay the knowledge I have taken from the postings.
    Cheers All,
    Topender

    Hello and Welcome

To answer your question, the postage from Perth Mint is using air courier, so a bit higher than what other dealer charge based on Australia Post charges.

Have a look around our site sponsors.

    Welcome :)

Perth Mint shipping costs are expensive - last time I checked, it was $17.50 per kilo, so for 6kg of metal you're looking at 7 x $17.50 = $122.50 for shipping (the extra $17.50 is the cost of shipping the packaging :D ). Then add another 1.1% of the total cost for insurance.

Suggest you look at the site sponsors, e.g. Gold Stackers, Bullion List, Bullion Bourse, etc. While the price per bar is a little higher, I think you'll find the shipping costs much more reasonable, and overall cost lower. ;)

    Hey top-ender.

Forum member "Mudgekko" is also from your neck-o-the-woods.

Luckily for you, the NT is virtually equidistant from Brisbane, Adelaide & Perth, so you can choose the best transport price for your metal :)
