5oz Pandas have typically performed well. But they are a little bit more pricey, and often harder to obtain.
Scattered I believe. David Mint Co., Ltd. Shenzhen, Shenyang Mint Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Mint Co., Ltd on the press release.
I think this is now a falsehood that the silver bullion pandas have some ridiculous premium. They may have had at one time but not any more. One can only speak for where we shop in the world I guess, but I pay about $1.50- maybe $2 US more for a panda compared to an Eagle, Brit or similar. Hardly an earth shattering premium guys is it surely?
Worth every penny. Can't see how you won't get that back a few times over irrespective of the final mintage.
Couldn't agree more! But I was too tired of arguing. LOL. I just don't see the 8 million pandas appreciating in value over the years. Just not convinced...even with a billion Chinese people. I'm sticking with low mintage bullion such as kooks and lunars. I guess we'll see who is right over time the kook/lunar lover or panda lover. check back in 15 years. LOL.
I started stacking about 3 years ago. I started out with ASEs, then was all about Perth Mint Lunars especially the Dragons then the market saturation of it turned me off considerably, I'll still make sure I get a roll of each per year, the proofs I get my hand on and all, but to me its all about Pandas now. I used to stack ungraded but once the light bulb went on for pandas, I started to want the older versions, and you have to get those graded, too many fakes out there, and now I'm more of a numismatic collector than a bullion stacker but you need some bullion (IMO) to play the upside on the spot price. As this cosmic shift of power moves eastward I think you'll find that the pandas will be the premier coin of the future and 8 million is just a drop in the bucket compared to the ASEs and CMLs. If anything, like Yennus states, it will bring more people into panda collecting / investing, and the previous year's issues will become more sought after. You can't lose stacking current year pandas.
I think these look sick..bringing back the look of the 1998 Panda leaning to 1 side. I already started putting cash under my matress for the day these are released. More Pandas Moar!!! looks like a few sheets is in my future. And maybe a 5oz Panda as well. I am placing my bet now that this coin looks sick in person!
