Dear people, what do you think for this coin ? I have never seen a more beautiful coins.... :) coin was sold out within three days and can not be longer anywhere to buy.

    Highlights

The design of the coin features the koru which is represented in the unfurling silver fern frond and the surrounding artwork represents the domain of Tne Mahuta
Minted from 1 troy oz 0.9999 gold
The coin is housed within a waka huia (ornamental carved vessel for taonga). Designed by Dave Burke and carved from a 50,000-year old New Zealand swamp kauri
    Mintage only 250pcs.

Nice coin but the secondary buyers market would be quite small I imagine. Double current spot limits its investment value. Would be happy to pay double or triple spot for a silver version.

I'm thinking of buying silver version too. Some German dealers have it for around 129$ which is quite ok price. And it's limited to only 2000.

But it looks like it's third in the series.

Well since I doubt I will go visiting NZ this year or even next this coin should be something for "solace". :)

    EDIT:
5oz or bigger would be nice too! :D

I like the 1997 Canada gold Haida Mask because of the high relief design. I prefer coins that are NOT colorized or processed additionally after minting like the other examples of Canada gold masks you provided (e.g. hologram designs, enameled, painted, etc.). Good luck with the hunt.

    Everywhere...simultaneously
When you own and hold an Aztec calendar coin in your hand to admire it's incredible design and workmanship, you realize that the Maori coin design is not impressive at all.

    I will take a pass.

That's true mmissinglink, but this one is more than 10x cheaper. ;) Well, if I have to pick between 10 1oz Maori coins and 1 kilo coin I would probably take 1 kilo coin any day. :)
