Do the 10oz come in the plastic wrap also? Curiously, does this do anything to prevent tarnishing? Anyone got any old plastic geiger bars all wrapped up and shiny?
actually the label is not stuck to the bar...it is wrapped inside the plastic so in between the plastic and the bar. My Dad and I have ordered 100 Gram Bars, 250 Gram Bars, 500Gram Bars, & 1,000 Gram Bars of these from Apmex. They are my favorite bar other than some of the Engelhards and Stacker bars from Scottsdale....the Reeding on the edge of the bar is just so nice to hold onto...it feels like quality.
The plastic does not prevent Tarnishing...one of my Dads 250 Gram Geiger Bars is toned on the back side but all his other bars are blast white. The toning is no problem though..I think Bars that are toned are cool. No reason all your Bars need to look Blast White...White is not natural for Silver over time...toning will even come from the plastic being in contact or close to the Silver Bar. either way you should pick these up...they are very cool if you can justify the premium on these. Is it toning or is it one of the newer ones with the brown security varnish? I wished they didn't do that. I like my silver to be shiny.
Ah, thanks for that. In that case, I will definitely consider the Geigers. I'd always thought they were really nice looking bars, but the idea of a silly paper label being glued to it kind of ruined the idea for me.
