Pretty advanced stuff for the target audience...but better than never.

On the topic of teaching young kids about 'money', I read that a young John D Rockerfeller started lending his pocket money with interest (raised from selling vegetables) to neighbour farmers before he's reached his teens.

His father (a rouge and travelling salesman) would delight in cheating John out of money at any oppourtunity as a lesson to his kids on the toughness of the 'real world'.

An interesting exercise in parenting. While this tactic did armour the young Rockerfeller with a well developed understanding of the hard realities of real world commerce, others may argue that there is enough toughness in the world without bringing it into the sanctuary of a child's home. Rockerfeller's obsession with success in the world of business may've been an unhealthy effort to exorsise the demons of his young days and make a long dead and absent father proud.
