I'd say it's after-sales gilding - he buys the regular bullion coins/rounds from mints and dealers, then does the gilding himself (or contracts someone to do it).

So this is do it yourself gilding, and people are paying 100s for Eagles.. The coins don't even look nice.. WHY are people buying these..

I was intrested in the premiums these guys were getting for circ grade bullion, very bling. So looked into ther ebay purchases n find polishing paste, gold solution n gear theyve bought on ebay. Hey hats off.....

Hi All, I like the idea of "making some one off's" just for me. This process could also be used to make fantasy pieces too getting high volume cheap coins from recent history and guilding them! Don't know how others would take to the idea but might be fun seein what can be produced with a wee bit of thought and skill?
