    Just a few thoughts.
Isn't it a bit funny that a bar 15 - 30 years old silver bar may be considered vintage,
but there are so many silver coins/ornaments/jewellery/cutlery that date back 100's or 1000's of years?

Obviously it seems that scarcity is the factor - there aren't many old bars, so 'vintage' seems to be just 'out of production and rare'
(meanwhile '66 rounds are everywhere yet are an older vintage)

So where are the bars of say the past say 100 years? Or was silver not stacked as bars until recently?
Google tells me many earlier bars were melted down around the silver price spike of 1980 (Hunt Bros manipulation)
but I would have thought mints/refiners/miners have been making silver bars for eons..
So where are these old silver bars?* Does anybody have silver bars that are older than the 1970's..?

*I'm guessing the lack of gold bars pre 1970's may be due to gold as a reserve currency / US Gold Reserve Act etc..

I used to work at a "Vintage bar " where some local gangster used to drink in the 40's ,
    Does that count ? :D
But now the yuppies have taken over & not it's just another bar
The mongrels even changed the name of the pub

It's like melting a 3oz Engelhard to make a modern 10oz PM bar

    I'm looking for venture capital.

    I will be producing 1, 5 & 10 ounce silver bars.

The brand will be known as "Vintage".

All interested, send me $10,000 in a brown paper bag.

No worries Butch, I've had 30 or 40 PMs, many offering more than $10,000, so I will be taking a 7 capital city tour next week staying at the best hotel in town. Just bring the money and I'll buy you a beer.
