    Hello!

If you have to pick between complete Lunar I 1oz coins (12) and Lunar II 2oz coins (6 coins) what would you pick? I can get them for approximately the same price.

If I want to have complete Lunar 2oz I need to buy 6 more coins which would need more money, but as far as I know 2oz coins are rarer. :)

    Your thoughts?

    Thanks!

    Br

Hahah. :) Thank you for your compliments. :D ;)

I'm more on the side of Lunar 1, but I think that 2oz is rarer. Although I believe lunar 1 is nicer. :)

It's not really fun when you buy an already made set.. The fun bit in collecting is in the hunt :)

    good idea!

Stark, send me both sets, I'll pay you for them of course ...
then I'll sell them to SS members and then make you hunt down each coin

for the cost of postage one could buy the set of 1/2 oz lunars ))

Well like any other thing, you have to pay for enjoyment :p
Hunt for bargains to offset the postage cost!

    Haha. I'm a hunter/predator. :) For lower (lowest) prices. ;)

The problem with tracking each coin separately as some of you've said is the postage. :)
And also our stupid VAT on silver. Not to mention the other customs costs. And I believe that first Lunar I coins must be quite expensive.
Also the shipping costs from some countries (like US) varies so much between different sellers. Some can ship for bellow 10$, other demand more than 20$.:/

    1 oz lunar series 1 :)

I have it normal and gilded. very cool! (gilded 2000 dragon is a very pretty coin! even though most people, for some reason, don't like gilded coins)

there will be less than 10,000 complete sets of 2oz Series II unless PM change their minds again ...
and since the issue of Series II, the price of Series I complete set has fallen ...

Both are highly collectible. Either way you can't go wrong. Maybe go with what you would like more rather than which is a better investment.

If series 2 is the recent re-mint 2oz proof release from the Perth Mint - I would be staying well away - Knowing the Perth Mint, you can guarantee the remaining releases will carry a very high premium.

If series 2 bullion release - then its a no brainer - This set rarely becomes available for sale (I would be buying this set), as long as your paying below $1k

Also, series 1 sets, appear for sale from time to time on this site........so you can always buy the series 1 set at a later stage.

The above points are solely my views only with no dis-respect to lovers of series 1 :)

Thank you all for sharing your knowledge and opinions. :) I was almost decided to buy Lunar I, but now will have to rethink a little bit. :) If I have enough money I would buy both, but in the end it could happen I won't buy any (spent too much on silver already) or invest money in something else. :)

I will probably buy the set which I like more. This is more gamble with 2oz set since 6 coins are need to be released. :D
