I would have put it's value at 1 coffee + 1 croissant. Not sure how you brought two kitkats into the equation?

While you're at it, ask them why a $50 legal tender coin sells for $1400. And ask them about section 115 of the constitution.

Welcome to the forum - ignore the peanut gallery!

A picture would be useful - condition is everything when it comes to valuing banknotes.

As the others have stated the 13 is the year, so it is really new and as such not rare, However... seeing as it is pale and also will have a new signature range, this IMO will be one of the rarer $5 around. If you don't need it and it is not creased Keep it.

Otherwise it could be an error were a run of ink has not been included, hence the pale look. Again if this is the case keep it, quite rare.

Photos would help as mentioned. Good luck

hi , you will find it is from the very first print run of 5 dollar notes there serials were AAoo - AB19
they changed to the newer color after that, that is when they put the year first BA93 - EA93

and also they have note yet made 2013 5 dollar notes

    the 2012 5 dollar note range was BA 12 - EA 12

aussieollie_279 welcome to the forum Sir; there's a few of us that collect Australian notes, I've been collecting since the early 1980's.

Please excuse our fellow Silver Stackers poor behaviour, most of them are such experts that they can rattle off every Aussie note and grade the note without viewing it.

I agree with Gold Pelican...please post an image and...we'll try to help you. :)

Your note was the original $5 polymer note and those serial numbers indicate that your note was one of the first printed!

The signature is Fraser and Cole...it was printed in 1992.

    Hang-on to it. :)

    Hi yer
I had a look at fraser and coyle 5 dollar notes and its definatly one of them :)
It is in great condition only a miner wrinkle on one corner. and no wear or tears etc.
I knew it wasnt a normal 5 as it was faded and had different design slightly.
    :) thanks for your help
    :)
