Hi SS I already saw one post about 2013 Britannia, but this post is mostly about bullion version of this coin. Since the 2013 Britannia has two different designs for bullion and proof I decided to start new post. I was waiting for this coin since September 2012. Here is what I found out: (for better resolution pics go to Royal Mint-link below) " Starting in 2013, the Royal Mint made significant changes to the Britannia program. The purity of the coins was changed from (95.8%) to the finer purity of 99.99% . The typical mintage limit of 100,000 for the silver bullion coins was removed. Lastly, the bullion versions would now feature the static design of Philip Nathan's "Standing Britannia" while the numismatic versions would feature a new design for each year of issue... ...The new design was revealed on the Royal Mint's website, which has a section dedicated to the new Britannia coins available for pre-order in a wide array of different sizes and product options." 1 oz brilliant uncirculated coin 1 oz proof Two coin set (1/10 oz and 1/20 oz) Five coin set (1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, and 1/20 oz) 5 oz proof coin struck in high relief Source: http://world.mintnewsblog.com/2013/07/2013-britannia-gold-and-silver-proof-coins/ http://www.royalmint.com/our-coins/ranges/britannia
I do hope the quality is improved! My 2013 Brit bullion unc certainly is not the best looking, considering I paid a premium on the coin.
The production issues with the 2013 britannia seems to only be with the first batch(es) newly produced ones are of good quality from my experience
