I've noticed this Australian Stock Horse in particular is being ramped hard lately with several threads spanning many pages and many posts. As a noob I wonder if some of the longer term stackers could share some stories about other famously ramped coins and whether they powered on to 'da moon' on the hype or busted and burned people badly. Shoot...

Have not even seen the coin or visited the posts on it.

I think that maybe only 2-5 releases out of 100 hit the jackpot.

Not good odds for the time involved.

If you like the looks then get a couple.

Let see if the mint get silly again by killing off the horses like they did to the dragons .

Yeah, the last Dragons were a classic 'own goal' if ever there was.

There doesn't seem to be much of an appetite for coins with 'stuff' on them here in oz. Gilded and coloured coins seem popular enough elsewhere, but there is no love here. Personally I'm not a fan, don't own any and don't plan too. I did grab two of these stock coins. Hopefully I can trade them to someone for some of the harder to source lunar coins down the track.

BigCountry, as you know I am now an avid supporter of the carded stock horse. As you also know I laughed at you the first time you bought your stock horses, cause I did not understand why a stock horse coin would be produced months before the Lunar Horse coins release. I later found out that the stock horse was a privately commissioned design.

I have a few of them now, but not because of the hype. I really do like the design of the coin. I also like the idea that there are only 1,000 of the carded version. If it turns out that the coin does not appreciate much in value, I am not to fussed as I am more than happy to just keep them in my personal collection for many years. Too be honest I would actually be quite happy if people loosened their tight hold on these coins a bit, cause trying to source them in the market is tough work, they seem to have found some strong hands.
