Also, found this case...It retails for $16 a piece, I'm going to attempt to see if I can get a wholesale rate with it... Do you guys think that something like the above is a good idea, or would you prefer something with the Perth Mint mark? If so I can try to commission a case from Perth.
as a long Time PM Collector ( disappointed one, i lost lot of money on PM coins due to Milkspots !!! ) here is what PM says about Things what they write on PM Blog: The information on this blog site is for general information purposes only. The is to protect their ass on their blog. How credible is the person you have quoted? Does he sell coins if so what is his site? Did he sell the horse coin?
yes, he has a Shop and sells Horse, if he want to talk about it here he should make it for himself, his Ebay Shop has over 15000 Feedback Points, it says something about credible ?
Damn eurokrem, I haven't seen too many PM coins with milk spots. Maybe one or two. One of which was on a (cover your ears) a Santa Maria ship coin. I know, colorized, but it is one of my favorites. However, I just got started collecting just about 3 years ago. And some of my collectible PM's, yes again (cover your ears)...colorized are fairly new (2010 - present), haven't developed milk spots (knock on wood)! This is one of my greates fears with semi's and numi coins, as the premium goes down once you disclose a coin having spots. I know what you mean about losing a lot of money. I did too with all of my RCM coins. I will never buy a coin from them. I have to say of the 500 oz of all their coins (wildlife and maples), 495 of them had spots. Heck most of my stack are the Perth Kook series and they are in rolls of 20. My luck, they probably all have milk spots. Have you had terrible milk spot issues with PM coins? What issues (just curious)? Dang that truly sucks. Anyway, all this to say I can relate!
What is his website/ebay link? I want to go to get the info from the "horses mouth". If he confirms in writing i hope one of the dealers can send that info the people that commissioned the coin to make sure he gets nothing next year. Yes im sure there will be a new coin and he shouldnt make a dime next year if he is spreading this misinformation.
Last time there was this much hype.. it was blood in the streets a few months later... the SS hype machine tends to turn out badly.. unless you can point me to a thread where the hype and early comers benefitted.. Meh.. just another poor investment (in terms of chances of sucess).. buy 2oz of 999 instead.. spots already GIFT low. 1for1
only time will tell how profitable was the stock horse 2 oz may drop to $20 ... have lot's of doubts horse will follow this course
As a general rule.. dont buy any PM non-bullion and youll save yourself a bunch of cognitive dissonance. Sure this may be the needle in the haystack.. but its worth moving on to not get the bug.. also if it goes up.. what? are you going to sell it on feepay? rort.. demand for carded silver is such a niche.. who can be screwed doing a marketing job and wasting your time listing it and crap.. flag
A commissioned case would be awesome, makes it offical. But I don't know if the costs in that are reasonable, might end up expensive. Also a light wood coloured box would be better than a dark? For some reason I just have a feeling that light wood goes better with horses.
Don't know about SS, but on RFD/in Canada, I can name one of the most recent ones being the Glass Butterfly coin with the issue price being $149, and me selling most of my stock for $299 on ebay (this is personal stock, not what I got as a dealer)
If you bought a few, should be no problem if they don't take off. Makes for some good storytelling for your grandchildren! On the other hand, I have a bad feeling that some people are gonna get burned real bad.
lol, I reckon a few SS members will be selling their coins at Flemington on Melbourne Cup day. 250 bucks a carded coin and a free can of VB. H
