"Dear thieves. My stack is nucular (gotta say it right). Touching it will make you die."

    That'll work. :p

If you stack bismuth it would actually be radio active.

I believe the extended lives of villages that tend to live in mountainous areas (Causcus', Sardinia, Japan, Italy) has been linked to the highly mineralised groundwater from the wells they drink from.

Having too much silver for the largest sized safe deposit box would be a nice problem to have!

Depends how much is too much - one of the private vaults advertising here have bullion safes with capacities of 700kg and 1000kg!

Have written to ask their pricing on these.
Will inform the list when I know more.

I was thinking of writing a FAQ or some info-laden document that deals with the issues of security, safety and storage, both concerns and solutions.

If there's a decent amount of discussion and feedback, I'd be more than happy to do so.

A lot of people are saying Singapore is perhaps the best location to store PMs in terms of low risk.

If, like me, your investment isn't big enough to justify flying there yourself and personally opening a safe deposit box, you're going to need to find a company to arrange things on your behalf.

The first one that sprung to mind was Mike Maloney's GoldSilver.com. You can buy any of the bullion products on their site that fall under Singapore's GST exemption rules and choose to have it shipped to a Brink's vault in Singapore, where it will be stored fully allocated under your name. Enter the promo code "SingSilver" at checkout (expires end of June 25, 2013) and they'll ship your order to Singapore for free. The only downside is the minimum monthly storage fee is US$25, so unless you're storing a lot of gold the storage fees are a little high.

I started looking for a cheaper option and found a Singapore company called BullionStar. They also offer fully allocated storage of gold and silver bought from them and storage (including insurance) is free for the first two years! If I wasn't already fully invested in PMs up to my maximum comfort level, I would definitely have pursued this option further. My brother-in-law's family lives in Singapore so my next step would have been to ask them to check whether this company is fully legit (not that I have any doubts, but you can never be too careful).

How the country that doesn't have military power to protect wealth can be the best location to store PMs?)))

the more PM stored in such a country the more chances it would be a target of aggression.

Given the size of the country, their defense force is quite impressive.

I'd be more worried about the country's military looting the bank than any invader.

For reference it would be great if they had something like: Fits X Pamp 1kg bars.

Sorry to hear about this. What a kick in the guts for you.

Everyone who thinks drugs are harmless - I bet the thief is a long term user.

Criminalisation of drugs is the problem. It creates, black market, huge profits and crime.
If one would be able to buy them at the local pharmacy for less than $1.
One would be doing it on ones Centrelink payments and won't go steal from people.

My point: (heavy) drugs use is not harmless - bad for your health, but you should be able to
destroy your own body whichever way you choose: drink, smoke, drugs, unsafe sex etc. without government interference.
Yes they can warn you about the dangers, but you should be able to do with your own body as you please.

And don't even give me that crap about socialised medical care and cost to society - everyone should pay for him/herself.

I think that's a contradiction. Drug users paying for their own medical care...I think I'll stop commenting, otherwise we'll/I'll completely derail this thread.
