Unfortunately I don't have anybody in Germany. The Travel allowance is 350 but that's per person. Chuck in my wife and little one who accompany me and 1050 perfectly legal. Last time my US buddy was over there are 5 of them so 1750. We did a side trip to Guernsey so 2400 on that trip as they don't collect and could march straight through the Green Channel not breaking the rules. I'm not a big collector as I can't afford it but putting enough away for my Retirement 30 years down the line. It will add up. What I might do is organise a side trip to Germany and bring in a years spend in one and only pay the 7%. Preferably before Brexit Whether you declare it is up to you. But the bright side is that you have a nice little weekend away on a lovely island. And the VAT you would have paid practically covers your air fares instead. Oh and I'll always order at least one of the other series. But you've all persuaded me on the merits of Kookaburras d*** it. That's another expensive few months on ebay to get the backdated coins.
Thanks Travelgall. I actually found out that the allowance is now 390. If you want some 2013 kookaburras check out aurinum.de they seem to have some for a reasonable price at the moment, and they are will ship to the UK and only charge 7% VAT. But don't worry if you missed out on the 2013, if you can't get them for a good price. I only have 1, and don't feel like I have missed out too much as the new ones will be out soon. The Lunar series is being released in September, and think the new kook might be out at the same time. But I am not sure, I will start a separate thread to see if people know.
