Hi Guys, I have the opportunity to buy the 1 oz kookaburra from the 1996 Kilo set...will this make any difference to the value the fact that it is taken from the kilo set? I presume it is from this set as it dosent look like the normal 1996 kook..see below: Thanks in advance. Source:
It is a 1oz proof kook - does not necessarily come from the kilo set - they also come alone with cert, in a 2oz+1oz set and also in a 10oz+2oz+1oz set Value won't be as high as the 1oz proof with wallet and cert but still a nice coin - should be worth more than the standard kook
It is the usual 1996 proof kook The bullion coins used the image from the previous year's proof, so the 1996 bullion kook is the same image as the 1995 proof
Hi Guys, I received the coin mentioned above this morning....after close inspection I think its a fake....there seems to be flaking around the rim with black underneath...could this just be tarnishing? As I said previously I`m new to all this... Cheers for any advice. Source:
First mistake is handling a proof coin with bare fingers Not a fake. Just tarnish. It's 17 years old.
You should listen your wife! My father did the same when I purchased him his first silver coin. Started opening the capsule... But the capsule was s****y to it would tarnish anyway. I saw picture of someone on eBay holding Norfed coin with fingers.... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! No respect for coins! :S
