If you do get your metal back, just get up to Atkinsons and do the deal. Do not post them, if you dont drive get a good friend to drive you up there, cant cost more than 60 in petrol. Ring first and discuss with them the issues you've had and make sure they can do a cash deal there and then. Personally I'd sell enough to keep under the 10k limit transaction, but thats your choice. Again good luck, please keep the thread informed
Speak to the police and your lawyer now. I can tell you now if that happend to me, lawyers and police would be the least of there problems. Do not wait for a week. Act now. Scorp
Thanks for everyones help. I did call the police on Wednesday and they called me back yesterday/Friday to say that they have emailed the company and left them a message. Later in the afternoon the money was in my account. Thank you for everyones help and advice.
All my metals are bought from dealers and i keep the receipts for anything of value and did offer to send them a copy of the receipts.
Thank you everyone. Guess i was silly to have thought it would be problem free selling to a larger and more well known company but i was wrong. Never again. It did work out good for me though as i will actually be able to buy the exact same amount of gold that i sold in coins and another half ounce on top with the current dip. So they made me 1/2oz of free gold. So there is a bright side to it.
Make sure you contact the Police to cancel the complaint and to thank them for their swift action. Always good to know the police will act pretty quickly in these things and their swift contact with the dealer probably was the catalyst for them to finally pay up.
In My opion and experiance the bigger the firm the more chance they will rip the little guy off as they have more Money and inturn power if it goes to a legal isue and you will allways loose out if goes legal. I lost $5M in a business deal with a huge firm but they had deeper pockets with the legal side and I just ended up walking away. Push them and keep on it while it is fresh, the longer it goes the more chance is you will never see your $14K again. Sorry.
Glad you got your money in the end. If I was you I would be writing to the Managing Director requesting a full explanation for the delay in settling payment and also demanding compensation at least of interest say 5% p.a. AER for the period they held your money, not to mention stress, worry, inconvenience etc. and wasting police time. Give them a bit of shit to chew over for a change ! Assuming they provided no explanation for their delays you ought to make a claim of sorts.
So there was no police involvement as they claimed to begin with? Did you ask the police if there was an outstanding matter as the company had advised you? Or it was all straight BS from the start? Would be interesting to know for sure if this company had pulled this on a customer. Do you know if they also offer storage of customers PM's? If so, Im sure customers would be very interested in your experiance with them and that they may default on delivery of stored PM in the future if their willing to pull this tricks just on a transaction. Glad it all worked out for the best this time but the price could have moved the other way in the delay and hurt you just as easy. Poor handeling for this company!
I've bought from bairds before but i will be buying elsewhere from now on Glad you got sorted in the end Good advice to sell under 10k's worth at a time
They do offer storage in the form of grains. They will also make these grains into bars for you at a price If you don't hold it you don't own it as far as i am concerned
