Had a bit of luck lately with interesting serial numbers. PAMP 500g minted silver bar - 000088 Perth Mint 100g gold bar - 000088 and 000099/000100 (kept the 88 one, someone else here got the 99/100) Just missed out on PAMP 1kg silver bar 222222 by one box recently - had the box just before it in sequence. Anyone else got interesting bar or coin serials?
The Johnson Matthey 1oz silver bars we have in the office are all 8848xx at the moment - someone in the US or Canada probably has 888888 by now.
just curious, so If you get some Pamp 500g Minted Bar's with serial numbers 000099/000100 You should hang on to these Bars? & not let them go?
...my plan is to flip the ones with 88 in them and see if I can get some extra premium. There's not much of a market for low serial number bars that I'm aware of, but modern numismatic coins sometimes sell at a premium if they have low serials.
Just bought a PAMP 1oz Lunar Snake with a serial number of 2013 - thought that was cool. I cannot find the mintage numbers for the PAMP bars anywhere though.
Do you know, it's the funniest thing. I have this crazy coincidence where almost all of the bars I buy are number 999 in their series!
I reckon they are fakes cos I have them too. I believe they are many more out there. You cant have same number. If yours are fakes many are too. The real one is with 999 and a little p after it. If yours doesnt have then its fakes.
On a side note, that's the best looking PM 10oz'er I've ever seen... they make that one up special for show/photo/promo?
I have one of these http://www.perthmint.com.au/catalog...ilver-proof-coin-gustav-mahler-1860-1911.aspx with coa 38 out of 5000. would that make a difference in value much?
The pictures couldn't be more deceptive could they! The first time I saw a PM bar in person, a little part of me died!
Surprised chip hasnt answered you...he must be busy fieding all the offers over the $1000 hes demanding.
I don't usually pay a premium and collect fake numi stuff (like the bar) I tend to focus on actual numi's so I find it hard to understand the pricing on this bar. will he actually get that price? I don't see any value in the bar other than the nice design giving it a slight premium over melt and I would pay him for that but it isn't rare, it isn't old and it isn't the legal currency of a country. I love the silver (lots!) but like I said is it really worth over $1k?
Copied and pasted from Chip's sales thread before he edits and deletes in an attempt to keep his cute little persona intact. Slag off at me all you like you diminutive dolt. My trading reputation is fine, regardless of your petty rants and childish posts. Since your mummy showed you how to upload a gif your efforts at posting have plumbed ever diminishing lows. When you first joined here you were given very sound advice by several members about how to go about things on here which you actively and continually ignore. This is only to your own detriment and each day sees you go down in people's estimation. Telling members to piss off unless they are a "serious investor/collector"......nice sales pitch. :|
For reference, the 500g silver PAMP #88 sold for about 190% spot, the 100g PM gold #88 sold for under 110% spot.
PM 100gm gold bar sold for Retail price + $125. No idea what a serious collector/investor would pay though.
