Picked up my first order yesterday from Goldstackers ( what a helpful bunch of guys for us newbies) They only 10oz bars they had in stock were the Scottsdale Reserve, (what a great looking bar) and the 5oz Scottsdale "Pray" (in stock) very very stylish. I think the Scottsdales designs look great, why don't they attract a higher premium.
Score! Scottsdale is one of the better looking brands out there. In terms of it commanding an extra premium? Seems that it's very competitively priced when buying from dealers (in the zone of others), but that it outsells on auctions like eBay. I will see Scottsdale products get premiums near Eagles and destroy the premiums of NTR, Sunshine, etc. Thus I have found it to be a bit of bonus and now clearly my favorite.
Agree, I didn't see that until my wife looked at them later in the evening, not on the 10oz reserve only the 5oz. I think Scottsdale's will be my first love I cant stop looking at the things
I think goldstackers should have an engraving service. Add an L in there and it becomes 'in gold we trust'. Much better.
You mention your wife and then the fact that Scottsdale will be your first love... She better not read that post!
I really like the designs and low premiums on Scottsdale silver. I'm just starting to stack the Omnia rounds and 10oz stackers. Being new to this game, Scottsdale have quickly become my first choice for stacking.
Im new to stacking and am waiting on 10 X "The One" 5 X Omnia 5 X "CoinBar" $2 Niue Island 2013 and 1 X Prey Can't wait for them to arrive, I love the look of scottsdale silver's designs
I bought my first Scottsdale bar last month (Scottsdale Silver 10oz Stacker Bar) and just fell in love with it. If I have more cash, I would also buy the Scottsdale 5 and 10oz Hand Poured Bars
Nailed it. That's why I won't buy their stuff, regardless of the lower price. Unless of course I intend to melt it myself, and it costs less than silver shot... Because who DOESN'T want to play with fire and melt metal??? I will say this though. Their 10oz stackers do look awesome.
They're aware of the feedback on the slogan - just a matter of updating the dies one day. Presumably there is a market segment it does appeal to in the USA.
Picked up my stackers yesterday from GP's office, love them but I don't care that much for the God writing, but how often will I be staring at that honestly? The only down side was that I walked out with two not the three I ordered, but on the plus side I do have a PM 10oz in the collection now
Yeah my brother has a few of the 5oz bars and they look great. Being meaning to buy some of the 10oz stackers but with the recent drop loaded up on 1kg PM bars
Scottsdale calls their 5oz stamped silver bar The Prey Bar -- not the "pray" bar. The name goes along with the predator/prey theme and their lion logo that they have on all of their bars and rounds (except the 100oz bars). That 5oz Prey Bar (as they call it) does have "In God We Trust" stamped on it, which confuses the issue and the name. Kind of screwy. At any rate, their use of the word Prey is clear on their website. http://store.scottsdalesilver.com/product/44/5-oz-Silver-Prey-Bar-by-Scottsdale-Silver I've been looking at their 5oz and 10oz hand poured bars (as well as the poured bars from SilverTowne and Monarch). If my Engelhard sources ever dry up on me, I think the Scottsdale and SilverTowne 5oz and 10oz pours are what I'll probably move into.
The Scottsdale 5oz and Silvertowne 10oz handpour bars are both really nice - recently had some Silvertownes in stock as low premium bars. Didn't last long. Got hundreds of stackers on order, been waiting a while for them. Demand is phenomenal for these bars.
Exactly why I don't like the Scottsdales I have, such a simple thing that ruins an otherwise beautiful item. I'm hoping I can eventually trade mine for something else.
