http://www.youtube.com/user/brotherjohnf Sorry if this has been discussed...I havent seen it here. Pretty cool
Theres this thread here: http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-39426-buy-silver-on-may-1st.html Interesting initiative, I have to say!
I think it's cool that the video has over 160k views, that is very impressive. They're the kind of numbers that could actually make a daily blip.
I've told the wife no more silver for a while, but I may just have to break the rule because YouTube told me
This is well timed as the silver supply is already under huge pressure. A big chunk of silver taken off the supply market will add much more pressure and who know we may all be rewarded with higher prices.
Admirable intent, but sadly disconnected from reality. I'm 100% with the "paper silver/gold is a house of cards waiting for a stiff breeze" school of thought, but that "Let's all buy physical silver on 5/1 and destroy the injustice of world monetary systems" lunacy is about as realistic as thinking that platoons of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts attacking the White House and Buckingham Palace with their pocket knives would bring the western world to its knees. More hot air from the silver peddlers of the world. They must have figured out their gloom+doom ranting+raving crap isn't very productive any more, so now they're trying out a new style of attempting to motivate the masses. I'm not sure who's more evil--the greed-motivated peddlers or the establishment they rail against. It's probably a close race.
Boycotts don't often work because some people aren't aware they are meant to be boycotting something and others are not in a position to boycott it even if they wanted too. But a mass buy, that is a little different. There are enough of us who might put off a purchase until May 1st because it doesn't really matter if we buy this week or next week. Some might buy a little extra on that day but none of us have to go without anything and no one will be put out by having to buy silver, this is normal behaviour for us. Cyber Monday is a good example of people all buying on the same day and it leads to riots and press coverage. I don't think we will quite make such a fuss as that but it is good to have something to aim for, I am sure all the site sponsors are just lining up to offer great deals, shame they already sold most of their junk.
Sigh... guess you all want a coupon code or something for the day. Buy Silver on May 1st - sponsored by my barefoot kids eating 3 minute noodles (can't afford the 2 minute variety).
