I've got a chunky 18K necklace that was something like 2% over spot - about 2.7oz AGW. Basically count it as part of my stack. Wore it for a while but now it sits in storage. Not easy to get onto a deal like that though - perk of being in the trade. Generally bullion-priced jewellery is not available for investment purchase, and you need to have a good disposal avenue to guarantee you won't get ripped off with low scrap buy back offers. Much simpler to buy 1oz bars or coins. One benefit of jewellery though is you can wear it across borders without raising eyebrows. Rings are too light for practical movement of any meaningful amount of gold.
