Just goes to show that the people of one of the oldest cultures in the world still understand what real money is!

Glad to see the hundreds of millions of pounds of UK tax payers aid to India is being wisely spent.

You mean aid to the same India, from where Britishers looted estimated 6,080,172,021 pounds only for 19th century (according to William Digby author of 'Prosperous India' (1901)).

btw this forum is about gold, not a forum to rant about UK foreign relations, so please let us try to stick to topic :)

These are some of the hardest working people in the world supporting your investments.

I feel the jibe was more about the UK and that I understand.

The UK turtled itself long ago

Aid to any country that has a space program is an odd choice of policy, I agree.

Dont forget all the diamonds and gems that India "gifted" to the British.

I know a few in Mumbai that have bought forward their wedding gift buying.

Come on! Every country does that sort of thing. It's a way to bribe - errr - oil the wheels.

The gold souk in Dubai is very busy too.
They were talking about it on the radio tonight, with lines out the door apparently, and I know my local was busy on Sunday.

I bought on Sunday, and then again on Monday, but the main bullion dealers were closing when I got to the souk on Monday, but there were still a few outside trying to get in. I had to buy at one of the jellery shops instead.
