Why is there no love for this coin? The Venetian art glass series has to be one of the best in the world right now. All three coins have appreciated considerably over the past 2 years. The ladybug is almost at $1,000, bumble bee at $250 and butterfly at $300 and it hasn't even been released yet. The April release of coins will probably be the most successful in RCM history. There are already 4 sold out coins. Everyone should check out www.mint.ca on April 2 for the new coins.
I don't think RCM products are popular here being an Aussie forum. Except maybe the maple bullion. Some folks disdain these. To each their own. Less competition if you want to get one.
Okee prices are high; but when you have the first two coins you got to have the third one too; i'm very happy tothat i could bought one for $235 CAD. incl transport to Holland; don't think that it's too much for such a nice coin.
The butterfly coin is absolutely stunning and 100X better in person than in pictures. There are detailed photos on the mint website which depict the coin from various angles. The coin is a work of art and each butterfly is hand made. I ordered the Mongolia Argali coin from Eurocollections and anxiously waiting for its arrival, but I am more excited about the butterfly.
it's definitely not too much, most of them are going for 300 dollars + shipping now. I only started this thread for the sake of FYI, it's alright that not everyone find the coin attractive.
The butterfly is an instant hit. I never bought the ladybug coin as an investment so I am pleasantly surprised with the steep appreciation of the series.
Have I told you your all mad  Your buying modern "ART " that just happens to be made of silver Same as "Tiffany Fart " Carry on Don't pay attention to my dribble
I didn't say that I was " normal " did I Most of my friends are " crazy " I don't associate with " normal " people
In my opinion these coins are ugly. Don't say they don't have a market, but they are definitely ugly for me. Sorry if I am writing counter-tendency opinion but I don't like coins with something so big glued on them. Ok for swarovsky crystals which are less "intrusive" but such big pieces of glass is a turn off for me. Alex.
I'm wondering how these could be sold out in 1.5 hours, as claimed in the ebay listing, when they haven't been released yet?
Presumably "Masters Club" members have bought them out. If you spend $1000.00 or more in a years time you get the privilege of buying coins before release to general public.
Master Club members have one week before the general public to order new coins. The majority of MC members didn't even have a chance to buy the butterfly.
So will that mean nothing left for the general public now? Or do MC members get an allocation of the overall mintage?
The coin is sold out so there is no more inventory to sell for the general public unless someone cancels their order. Most of the coins go to major dealers.
Ladybug just sold for $1,000 on ebay - 111040875642. Hopefully, everyone will have a chance to own at least one coin at a reasonable price.
