At some stage you or your daughter are going to want to sell the coins. I would've thought a stack of recognizable bullion will be alot easier to sell than individual numismatic type stuff.

The designs on bullion can be just as interesting IMHO.

For these reasons I prefer bullion.

I don't hesitate to give advice, it helps to pass the time, and no-one listens anyway...

Buy bullion, unless you fancy yourself a Numismatic scholar !

Kcaven---So what did the coins turn out to be? A bag of nasty, scratched-up old dimes? A beautiful collection of MS Carson City Morgans in individual capsules?

    Inquiring minds want to know...

I have bought mostly numis. I am new also...as of around September of 2012. I still have a lot to learn and have made some mistakes but I think that not buying bullion (non-denominational) rounds and bars was smart because the price has been dropping ever since and now if I buy non-denom bullion or even bullion coins (which is what I much prefer over non-denom bullion), I will be a little ahead than if I bought bullion months ago.

I just hope that the price goes down more and the premiums don't go up.
