    As I decided to pull the trigger on some Freedom Girl rounds, all items (including the non-bullion items) were marked "Sold Out" on their website. When you click on the item, it says "Sales on Hold". I was wondering if any member would know what could be going on. I was thinking if that they may have suspended new orders of bullion until they catch up with shipping the backlog of pre-sold ones, but why would they suspend the non bullion items, like their T-shirts, unless there was more to it that was going on. Anyone?

    they are on hold right now because they are far behind on the other orders. they are just trying to catch up on the orders they have already taken money for before they start selling anything again

    Yep, shut down the whole business just to catch up??? Wouldnt come to mind to put on extra help for a few weeks to get it all sorted out.
    I smell BS, there quoted shut down time has lapsed, and the internet is full of complaints about quality.
    Just catching up, mmmmmmmm, :lol:

    yea you're right. you've got a point. As for quality.. their quality is crap.. I got the death and debt when it first came out and when i got it in the mail there was a brown spot on the silver... i don't know what it was but i do know it wouldn't come off and it was hideous.

    Do yourself a favour and dont buy any. Their process is a shonk and goes like this:

    1. Put rounds up for sale on the website;
    2. Take payments for a certain number (lets say 5,000 units)
    3. Stop taking orders;
    4. Use the money received to pay a mint to strike the rounds;
    5. Send out the rounds (by now 2-3 months have gone by);
    6. Re-open the website, begin the process again.

    The fact that this business has no liquidity means you have to wait months as each batch of orders is processed, struck and then finally sent out. All the while your $$$ are at risk that this business could fold at any minute.

    Reputable mints dont work this way.

    Is it just me or is that little machine going awfully slow?... They'd need 10 of those going 24/7 to get even close to 25,000 coins out in short order!!

    I wonder if the next 4 designs come out better in quality.
    I know its dodgy brothers but i like the coins.
    They will always remind us of the market of today.
    The calm before the storm :)
    Anybody have any idea when the new coin designs will be shown?
    Will they be doing a negative coin next?

    Yep too slow, they need more than 1 old machine.

    Granted the strip does get rolled, extending the length, but with the amount of orders they're getting it seems like a bottleneck.
    I'd like to say they know what they're doing...but they don't.

    say if they got 15 blanks per meter which is very generous. they would need 1666 lengths of silver bar/tape to make 25,000 coins Good luck guys, keep on truckin'

    Seems like a pretty amateur operation.

    Bringing their blank production in house (having never done it and lacking expertise) will probably result in an even poorer quality of coin than people are currently experiencing imo.

    The video above does not accurately depict the actual production rate of SBSS rounds.

    What a lot of collectors seem to be missing here is that SBSS is not a mint, it's a design house licensing their series under the AOCS (American Open Currency Standard) to affiliated mints. What that video clearly shows is that Mulligan Mint is in way over their heads on this. That is only one small-time outfit.

    If you want SBSS rounds in about two-weeks time (US anyhow, can't vouch for international customers) that don't look like crap try Amagi instead. Their AOCS strikes receive very good reviews.

    " M2 clients and Authorized Dealers can count on us for short-run custom minting as well as hi-volume custom bullion minting. With an adequate supply of blanks on the shelf, M2 can mint more than 6,000 one ounce rounds per hour! "

    http://mulliganmint.com/production/silver/

    " Chris Duane of Dont-Tread-On.Me was instrumental in helping draft the testimony and accompanied Gray & M2 Sales Director Gus Demos to Washington, D.C. for the testimony. Mr Duane was so impressed with the outcome of the event that he created several videos of it for YouTube, which now collectively have hundreds of thousands of views. Mr Duane went on to partner with M2 to create his very own line of Silver Bullet & Silver Shield medallions, all of which have subsequently become international best-sellers.

    Between the influx of new customers eager to do business with M2 as a direct result of these historic events, Mr Duane's amazing coin concepts, and the existing wholesale dealers AOCS brought to the table, M2 was able to surpass all expectations and projections. The original production and revenue goals established in the early days of M2 were hit and rendered obsolete within three months of minting commencement."

    As curios, they're fun and they had a couple of quirky designs but I have to say that from what I've seen, the SBSS guys need to work on their consistency both in strike quality and availability. 'Did they bite off more than they could chew?'...probably. Will I collect the whole series?..probably not.

    They must have their 'Silver Bullet' selections caught up in this 'clusterf*ck' as well.

    I'll be looking for some good prices on 'Maples' and 'Phillies' coin wise and they'll always be among the ones more sort after in 'zombie times' hehehe .

    Cheering on the slide in prices at the moment so I can buy a little more here and there.
