Hi All, We've all heard that silver will reach +$300oz or +$400oz or +$500oz when the US eventually goes into hyperinflation, but can anybody tell me if we in Australia will experience a similar degree of gain if the AUD appreciates $1.50, $2.00, $5.00 or $10, $20 against the US dollar? ......or will the Aussie dollar (being a fiat currency) go down the gurgled with the rest of the world?

So long as the U.S. dollar remains the reserve currency of the world, it will be great for us and bad for the U.S., our economy would take a hit but as proven by the 2008 finically crisis, we are a safe port in the global financial storm. ( just my humble opinion ).

Was able to resurrect this thread - the posts were all in the database, just the topic record was missing.

This could hold true for any other topics that were lost a few months ago - I think just the topic entries are gone, not the posts of the thread, but recovery would be manual.

If not too much effort I think the original 'Today I bought' thread would be worth resurrecting given the amount of postings it had and the history it captures

My first time on the forum, - are there any suggestions for any bullion services that are suitable for doing swaps, especially quickly? over the years I have been flipping back and forth gold and silver with much success. However my favourite dealers are making that harder, namely its seems that Silver storage costs are going up across the board

I have used Ainslie Bullion, but they have introduced charges for holding Silver about $17 kg per annum from memory, and with my Super, was using the Perth Mint PMDS but last time I wanted to swap they said this product no longer holds unallocated silver, but there is another way but that would involve a bunch of fees also.

Obviously the cheapest way is to hold it myself, but that makes it hard to swap quickly and I cant really have my SMSF metals under the bed.

Golds Stackers unallocated caters for GSR swaps. I suggest you contact them for details.

Also worth searching the forum (Search link at top left) for 'GSR'

Good post. I can see how Christmas theme could offend a potential buyer (joking), but if they are just bullion then they can always have the melt value. I dont personally collect the Christmas designs, but I can see what you mean because I wouldnt pay for any of the zombie ones out there either. However, I think those type of designs can make a persons collection more interesting as long as they arent paying a high premium. Thanks for all of the information. I am new to this and its always an asset to have someone like you posting your knowledge.

    Hello!
Can anyone recommend Sydney coin shops that sell silver below the silver coin pricing mentioned at http://gold.de ? (Germany has VAT on coins, Australia hasn't)
    Please let us know.
