They take their fee from combining item price and postage so doesn't bother them what he charges as long as they get their overall 10% fee
I'm not sure If that ecal fee calculator is right but when I ran through an item with a $1 buy it now and also testing with auction format with $900 shipping it spat out that ebay final valuation fees were $0.80 and PayPal fees $38, total $38.80. The other way round however with $900 buy it now or final auction price and $8 shipping, the fees were $71 final valuation fee and $35 PayPal fee total $108
Hello House, I don't think so, as far as I know ebay fee is calculated on the item price only, paypal fee is calculated on total amount payed but its only 2.4%.
Well they've been charging me the overall sale price... :| From http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/insertion-fee.html#fvf
Oh fiddlesticks... my eBay was set up in Europe and haven't changed the location since! Cheers for that Kam-L. Thankfully don't use it too much and always offer free P&P anyway. Wonder why the charges aren't the same across the world. Now back to the bargains people
For the benefit of anybody who is tempted but hasn't figured out the scam yet: "Mid-April" is chosen because the eBay/PayPal "item not received" refund process is only valid for 45 days after the date of purchase. So when the seller doesn't deliver in mid-April, eBay/PayPal won't allow the buyer to claim a refund through the usual channels. Knowledgeable buyers will complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service, at which point PayPal will most likely refund their money. Then if the seller still has linked credit cards or bank accounts, Paypal will immediately recover the money from there, otherwise they will sell the debt to their collection agency.
The 45 day refund limit is very risky indeed. Though one of his previous sales had an item in January, delivered mid February. So that one looks legit, considering it had 25 bids and positive feedback. I got a response out of the buyer: Hi, How can you sell silver under the silver price? reply: Dear ledemporiumau, Hi I am selling under silver price as I require the funds and I have purchased these a while ago, just waiting on delivery which will be mid April for this lot Cheers - tbat1michael What a load of crap.
So he got them a while ago, like at least maybe 2 months ago. Who in their right mind orders bullion and waits for it to be delivered in a 5 month period without. Unless he is releasing it from his offshore bullion vault in the bahamas.
Total bs even if it was phys on hold and he bought it back at $15/oz why ship it, im sure he'd get a great buy back price and save on shipping, or just recieve it and sell to a dealer for spot. Either way unless it was in front of me and I had a drill I wouldnt touch this
