Anyone got a suggestion of which carrier to use whilst OS, mainly Malaysia, China and Europe with calls back to Aus and inter/intra country? Was checking out this one http://www.travelsim.net.au/Rates/ with very decent rates compared to the $4/minute Helstra charges!

PS I know about Sype and Viber however having data connection full time OS is deadly expensive

Last time I went to China I just got a prepaid SIM for local-ish calls.

You can then use this prepaid SIM to call something like gountimed (which I use, cheap but not always the most reliable) which then allows you to do international calls using their VOIP system.

Generally speaking it is cheaper than calling directly and internationally.

most providers have international roaming . You need to get it switched on ..The calls are expensive though .

If your phone ia unlocked just get local sim cards they are cheap in asia .Here in the phils you can buy one for under $1aud
