To me it's a society that refused to believe, and didn't want to accept, the fact that the world is constantly changing. A society that tried to wall off it's economy and try to dictate terms to the rest of the world and ending up stagnating and rotting from within.

You honestly think that? Circa 2009/2010 and even 2011 perhaps, but you think SS today is really a warning out there to the masses? There's as many debtors, speculative bulls and shills on this forum than there are on any MSM investment forum/community out there you'd care to mention today. I wouldn't be too keen to put SS on a pedestal errol. There's as much BS here as there is on other 'rival' investment forums now and arguably more, depending on the topic at hand.

ANZ economist today on ABC News Radio described the Australian inflation rate as a "Goldilocks Result". Not too high, not too low, just right. There's so many bias blinkers around this place on many aspects of the SS community, including the discussion of the community itself. Far too many people put this place on a pedestal than really is warranted is all I'm saying, calling a spade a spade. For quite a while now I have not assumed the SS community is any different from what you get outside these community pages, we simply have better insight into the PM markets - else what you see typically on this forum is the same as any other mainstream investment forum. People just don't like to hear it, that's all & this guy is just trying to wind my crank with a bit of snide trolling. Whatever. This thread is about planning for financial meltdown. Can you honestly say the core discussion topics of SS is about preparing for such an event anymore? Circa 2009-2011 maybe, but NOW? C'mon - be honest. The true core of SS now is about how to profit on the ignorance of others (including other members) and that's the reality of the situation people simply don't want to honestly acknowledge.
