This is revelant to markets and economics due to the historical facts associated with the question. When was the first weather map published in an Aussie newspaper? The date? The newspaper? The FULL name of the person who made the map? Enjoy your research & for those in Sydney who visit the Observatory, Ineed the weight of the HUGE Silver cup given to the man.
I am asking the questions.... I am a descendant of the person in question. It is me & my Two brothers who have consented to the HUGE Silver cup to be on loan & display & the Sydney Location. So maybe this thread is to confirm that the cup is being looked after in a good way. I remember it as about 2ft tall .......
Dear uncle Frankie. Always one to pull an Aprils fools joke.... WRONG....... Wrong date Wrong paper Wrong name. Nice try. Will be off line soon. Will log in & hope to see a copy of the weather map in question. FULL name of the person in question. Title of the newspaper & date of publication. Bonus points for photo of Silver recognition of service cup. Enjoy your research.......

Slightly off topic, but the astronomy link reminded me that the international space station is due to fly past south eastern australia in approx an hour's time It is a bright light that travels at approx 8km/hr. Hopefully it's not too late tonight as usually best to see near dusk or dawn when best reflecting the sun.
