This is the key to the registry set. It has a population of 14 with none graded higher. Anybody own this coin? It is the only coin I am missing and I can't find it anywhere! Help!
Yeah I don't have any ngc coins since when I started collecting I recognized that pcgs coins commanded a higher premium. All the sets i'm collecting are pcgs so can't switch to ngc now
Give it a shot & keep us up to date with the outcome The cross-over I'm talking about - as mentioned in your other post.
I would argue that its because they are considered a more consistent and more accurate grader and so the market values them more. Obviously not always the case however the market speaks with its wallet and fact is pcgs coins sell for more.
That would probably be the best route. It is not that there aren't any grade 70 coins left, it is likely that most of them have not been graded. I have 123 1oz 2007 kooks with 120 of them still in rolls, but I have no reason to send them in to be graded. And I would expect most of the 2007 coins have not been graded. Since Apmex has been grading some of the recent remint kooks, I am surprised that they don't have any available. I would keep checking Apmex for a while.
Well guys my journey is complete. I finally secured the key coin to the series. The 2007 koala pcgs sp69 population 14. I now have the #1 Registry Set at PCGS for the Australian Koala Series. I will take some photos of the set when I get a chance. Took me 3 years to put the entire set together with most if it just searching for the 2007.
Obviously I am keeping my fingers crossed that they don't but I doubt they will. Mostly due to the difference in demand for Kooks vs Koalas. Perth saw that the demand for Kooks was so huge they knew they could sell a huge amount of them. The Koala's on the other hand have slowly picked up steam but were not that popular originally.
