The third medallion in the Silver Bullet Silver Shield Series is the Slave Queen Medallion. From what I gather, minting starts in a few weeks and it's priced pretty cheaply- AUD$36.25

In the band of the Queen's crown, the word OBEY is prominently displayed under 3 famous symbols.
The first symbol is a Poppy blossom symbolizing the many decade Opium War against China. The British had long had a silver trade deficit with China with the consumption of China's silk and tea. The British West India company used the illegal drug importation of Opium to settle the enormous silver trade deficit Britain had with China. Absolutely f*ck ugly coin, and find the idea repulsive.

It's not the defiled image of Big Liz, its more the counter-culture OMFG1 appeal of the imagery. I actually liked the other 2 in the series, however this one I find to be a step too far.

A perfect example of how little intellect these people have when it comes to the etymology of their own coin is perfectly explained in this phrase:

Not a fan personally. Those "keep calm and whatever" images are oversold (I am seeing them as frames prints everywhere now) and too trendy for me.

To balance out the people who hate it, I actually like it. I don't give two rats about the "symbolism" in the crown etc but I do love the raw symbolism of representing a monarchy as a skeleton - almost blasphemous, which I adore

I've always found that the use of "collectivist" rather than "compulsory collectivism" very annoying though as very misrepresentative :/

Don't like...They look too much like a protest or propaganda token instead of quality investment product.curious as to how well these will resell in 10-15 years time.IMHO - Cheap looking gimmick

 

i personally think these look good. i like the concept. and love the queen as a skull and the crown. not such a fan of the whole keep calm thing. but i can feel it growing on me already.
the next one should be a crazy hippy wearing a tin foil hat.. just to balance things out a bit.
